Keeping up the good tradition of sharing the most interesting episodes of Develandoo events, we’re starting another series of articles devoted to Munich AI Summit 2019 organized by our enthusiastic and innovative team on October 8th at Wayra Open Innovation Hub. It was already the second time our one-day event united the brightest minds and thought leaders in AI, Data Science and Machine Learning around various interesting topics touched upon by leading industry experts.
And today’s article is devoted to a very important topic on how AI is changing our world and how we can shape the change.
We’re living in times when Artificial Intelligence is everywhere and it has a huge impact practically on every sphere of our lives, changing us and our environment on a daily basis.
What are the keys to success when it comes to shaping the future with AI?
Let’s take a look at the challenges, the opportunities and potentials with our first speaker, Felicitas Birkner from Fujitsu, award winner “Woman of the Year 2019” in Europe – a true ambassador of tech.
Felicitas studied Technical Facilities at University Dresden (Dipl.Ing) and started her career in the corporate world in 1991. She held various roles within and has extensive professional expertise in ICT Products, MarCom, Sales, Alliances and Business Management. She is currently leading the Fujitsu Academy in Central Europe and she is the chairwoman of the board in ICT of the German association of the ICT industry Bitkom. As an author, Felicitas wrote book articles, e.g. published by Springer-Gabler in “CSR-Digitalisierung” (2017) and “Visionäre von heute-Gestalter von morgen” (2018).
She was the co-founder and co-president of the globally acting Professional Women’s Network Munich e.V. (2012). In 2009 she developed the P.e.P.Lebens•Stil•Programme®, implemented entrepreneurship and is supporting a variety of initiatives in change management and diversity projects.
Calling for attention, responsibility and trust! She opens her talk with this phrase bringing the audience’s attention to the change which is already a reality. AI is everywhere around us in medicine, business, transportation, legal industry, telecommunication, education, people’s private lives as well.
‘’We have to handle the rapid growth of digitization and complexity, we have to figure out and find the concepts to overcome all the challenges. When I’m speaking about the challenges I don’t think we have to think only about technical things,’’ says Felicitas in her speech.
Further, she touches upon the topic of security in terms of all the different areas where our data is playing a role.
‘’And looking around all the fields, we can say we have huge benefits from what AI can do for us, i.e take our tasks and make the processes more effective and accurate. Very often I said it’s better to use intelligent assistants for today as to use your own brains, because AI systems can do jobs in many fields already better than a human’’.
